Jason Paris is a highly experienced litigation and insolvency lawyer with more than 20 years of expertise advising businesses, insolvency practitioners, creditors, directors, and shareholders on complex commercial disputes and enforcement matters. As the head of Nolen Walters' Civil and Commercial Litigation practice, Jason is recognised for delivering strategic legal advice that combines technical excellence with practical commercial solutions.

Before founding Nolen Walters, Jason was a partner at a respected boutique corporate and commercial law firm and began his legal career at one of New Zealand's leading national law firms. This breadth of experience has equipped him with a deep understanding of both the legal and commercial realities faced by businesses and individuals involved in disputes.

Holding degrees in both Law and Management Studies, with a major in Accounting, Jason brings a unique financial perspective to commercial disputes. Jason regularly acts for receivers, liquidators, insolvency practitioners, and commercial creditors in both contentious and non-contentious insolvency matters. He advises on debt recovery, enforcement proceedings, director duties, shareholder disputes, business restructuring, and urgent injunctive relief.

Jason appears regularly before the High Court and has also appeared in the Court of Appeal and Supreme Court. His advocacy experience, combined with his strategic approach to litigation, enables him to effectively represent clients in high-stakes and complex proceedings.

He has also developed strong relationships with New Zealand's leading barristers and King's Counsel and is frequently engaged as an instructing solicitor in significant commercial litigation matters.
